Estos animales se caracterizan por presentar larvas con un amplio rango de h\u00e1bitos alimenticios y por ser parte de la dieta de varios animales, contribuyendo as\u00ed a los flujos de energ\u00eda y din\u00e1mica entre los sistemas acu\u00e1ticos y terrestres adyacentes. Tambi\u00e9n se caracterizan por los adultos similares a polillas, al poseer pelos en el cuerpo; de hecho, estos insectos se encuentran estrechamente emparentados con los lepid\u00f3pteros (Rom\u00e1n-de la Fuente &amp; Sganga 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Trichoptera<\/strong>&nbsp;de Chile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En Chile, el orden Trichoptera se encuentra representado por los dos sub\u00f3rdenes descritos, Annulipalia e Integripalpia, conteniendo 19 familias, 61 g\u00e9neros y 225 especies. En temas de biodiversidad, el orden Integripalpia es el principal en nuestro pa\u00eds, al poseer 163 especies (casi un tercio perteneciendo a su vez a la familia Hydrobiosidae).
