Recuperado el [inserte fecha de consulta] de [URL]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Phasmatodea<\/strong>&nbsp;Jacobson &amp; Bianchi, 1902<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El orden Phasmatodea (= Phasmida) incluye a los insectos conocidos vulgarmente en Chile como \u201cpalotes\u201d y \u201cchinchemolles\u201d, artr\u00f3podos ne\u00f3pteros (con articulaci\u00f3n para plegar las &nbsp;alas), exopterigotas (los juveniles desarrollan las alas en estuches visibles externamente) y hemimet\u00e1bolos (con metamorfosis incompleta). Tanto en el estadio ninfal como el adulto presentan un estilo de vida terrestre asociado con las plantas de las cuales se alimentan. Este orden posee al insecto vivo m\u00e1s largo jam\u00e1s registrado: <em>Phryganistria chinensis<\/em>, con un ejemplar que alcanz\u00f3 los 640 mm de longitud (incluyendo extremidades).
