Se encuentran com\u00fanmente viviendo en el suelo, excavando y aliment\u00e1ndose de materia org\u00e1nica viva y muerta. Son el grupo de los oligoquetos terrestres que evolutivamente descienden de lombrices acu\u00e1ticas, por lo que mantienen a\u00fan caracter\u00edsticas propias del medio, como la respiraci\u00f3n cut\u00e1nea y la dependencia de la humedad, desarrollando sistemas de resistencia a desecamiento (c\u00e1psulas, puestas masivas y quiescencia) como adaptaci\u00f3n al medio terrestre. Algunas especies tropicales alcanzan los 4 m de longitud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>Ocnerodrilidae<\/strong>\u00a0de Chile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Chile hay dos especies de ocnerodr\u00edlidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>N\u00famero de taxones en Chile:&nbsp;<\/strong>2 (especies v\u00e1lidas)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Eukerria saltensis <\/em>(Beddard, 1895)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Phoenicodrilus taste <\/em>Eisen, 1895<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Referencias<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Blakemore, R.J.
