Carecen de concha en su etapa adulta y presentan branquias externas \u2014de ah\u00ed su nombre, que significa \u00abbranquias desnudas\u00bb\u2014 que utilizan para respirar. Habitan principalmente fondos rocosos y arrecifes, donde se alimentan de esponjas, an\u00e9monas u otros invertebrados, muchas veces incorporando toxinas o estructuras urticantes de sus presas como mecanismo de defensa. Adem\u00e1s de su valor est\u00e9tico, los nudibranquios son organismos de gran inter\u00e9s cient\u00edfico, ya que aportan informaci\u00f3n clave sobre ecolog\u00eda marina, qu\u00edmica de compuestos naturales y procesos evolutivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>Nudibranchia<\/strong>&nbsp;de Chile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Chile hay 26 familias y 55 especies v\u00e1lidas de nudibranquios descritas hasta la fecha, junto con dos taxones identificados a nivel de g\u00e9nero y un Tergipedidae indeterminado. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>N\u00famero de taxones en Chile: <\/strong>58 (55 especies v\u00e1lidas, 2 taxones id. a nivel de g\u00e9nero, 1 tax\u00f3n id. a nivel de familia)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Familia <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chilefauna.cl\/index.php\/aegiridae-de-chile\/\">Aegiridae<\/a><\/strong> P.
