Se alimentan de otros animales m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os, como insectos, por ejemplo, los cuales atrapan lanzando un chorro de moco adhesivo. Son el \u00fanico phylum animal exclusivo de ambientes terrestres. Existen dos familias vivientes que comprenden m\u00e1s de 200 especies, Peripatidae (\u00c1frica occidental, Centroam\u00e9rica y en el sudeste asi\u00e1tico) y Peripatopsidae (Sud\u00e1frica, Australasia y Chile).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Onychophora de Chile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En Chile solo est\u00e1 presente la familia Peripatopsidae, con cuatro especies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>N\u00famero de taxones en Chile: <\/strong>4 (especies)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Familia <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chilefauna.cl\/index.php\/peripatopsidae-de-chile\/\">Peripatopsidae<\/a><\/strong> Bouvier, 1905 | <strong>4 taxones<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Referencias<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mayer, G.
