A diferencia de otros animales bilaterales, los platelmintos son acelomados (sin cavidad corporal), adem\u00e1s de carecer de \u00f3rganos respiratorios y circulatorios especializados. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tradicionalmente los platelmintos se divid\u00edan en cuatro clases: Turbellaria (no par\u00e1sitos), Trematoda, Monogenea y Cestoda (par\u00e1sitos) (algunos tambi\u00e9n  incorporan Temnocephalida). Sin embargo, la sistem\u00e1tica y clasificaci\u00f3n actual de estos animales no est\u00e1 resuelta. Estudios filogen\u00e9ticos han derivado en nuevas clasificaciones, siendo una de las m\u00e1s aceptadas la existencia de dos clados: Mucorhabda y Rhabditophora. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mucorhabda: <\/strong>incluye la clase Catenulida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rhabditophora: <\/strong>incluye los clados Macrostomorpha (Haplopharyngida y Macrostomida) y Trepaxonemata. Este \u00faltimo a su vez comprende los clados Amplimatricata (Prorhynchida y Polycladida), Gnosonesimora (Gnosonesimida), y Euneoophora. Este \u00faltimo tax\u00f3n se divide en Rhabdocoela (Kalyptorhynchia y Dalytyphloplanida), Proseriata y Acentrosomata, y este a su vez en Adiaphanida (Prolecithophora, Fecampiida y Tricladida) y Bothrioneodermata (Bothrioplanida y Neodermata, es decir, Trematoda, Monogenea y Cestoda). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Platyhelminthes de Chile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Chile hay representantes tanto de Mucorhabda como de Rhabditophora. Debido a la compleja sistem\u00e1tica de este grupo, se ha decidido optar por clasificar Rhabditophora en \u00f3rdenes, a excepci\u00f3n de los Neodermata (Trematoda, Monogenea y Cestoda), los cuales ser\u00e1n clasificados tradicionalmente, es decir, en clases.
